Beware of Scammers

Due to the increasing numbers of scammers, a lot of Filipinos are still not that confident in purchasing products online. These scammers are the reason why legitimate online sellers like me are suffering.

Lately I’ve been having a hard time selling my products to potential customers because most of them were scammed before. So I needed to put in extra effort in proving to them that I won’t rip them off. I know that this is very frustrating for them so I have written a blog post to help them protect themselves from heartless scammers while shopping online. Please read on.

Before purchasing a product from an online seller who claim to be an authorized distributor of FrontRow, here are the things that you should remember:

1. Ask for a copy of his or her ID or membership form.

2. Make sure that the seller knows his/her product well. If the seller can’t give a clear answer to a question, instantly end the conversation and find another seller who can familiarize you with the product you want to buy. Most sellers prefer to include FAQs in the product description so the buyer don't have to ask so many questions to them. This helps them save time.

3. Don’t be easily fooled by the number of reviews or likes that you will see on the seller’s Facebook page. Be doubtful if you find reviews or likes from newly created or inactive Facebook profiles.

4. The seller’s website should have ‘About’ and ‘Contact’ page so you know who you are dealing with.

5. The seller should have a Paypal account, a secure payment service that will allow you to pay through your Paypal account or your credit card. If you pay through Paypal and find out that the seller is a scammer, you can file a dispute to get a refund. Click here for more info.

6. The website should have information about the delivery. In most websites, you should see this in the 'How to Buy' page.

7. Look for proofs of shipment. The seller should be able to provide you with screenshots of messages from his or her customers who successfuly received their orders. It should look like THIS.

8. Are they selling products below the Suggested Retail Price? A lot of sellers will tell you that if you see Luxxe products offered below the SRP, it is fake or expired. However, there are also sellers, and I am one of them, who choose to sell them below the SRP because that’s the fastest way to sell our products online. Besides, as a FrontRow member, we are entitled to 50% discount on all Luxxe products so earning a few hundreds pesos for each of them is not a bad thing at all.

Please take note that suggested retail price (SRP) is not mandatory but recommendatory.
